Very full middle and bottom registers; this is great for that smoky jazz tone. It looks and plays great. The neck doesn't appear to have ever been pulled down or damaged. Theres a smattering of minor re solders in the lower body, but no signs severe dent work or body.
This is a super sweet original lacquer 1948 vintage Selmer Paris Super Balanced Action alto saxophone, serial number 37541. You don't see a whole lot of Selmer horns from this era in original finish still, seems like the majority have been re lacquered at some point last 75 years, but one has never and recently overhauled too. It is ready to rock!, As you can see in the photos, it shows a fair amount of honest lacquer wear for its age, but no signs abuse. This SBA retains that same warm core, but is a bit more spread overall both in the way it takes your air and its response.
Comes in a BAM softback series case. It has like-new pads fitted with oversized seamless metal resonators. An SBA is a great choice for players who like the classic Selmer sound but want something not quite as focused you find on Mark VI or certainly any of modern Selmer.
